| We are a lively language school with 15 years of experience teaching Spanish to foreign students while they are immersed in the Costa Rican culture. We offer two campuses, one in the colonial and currently university town of Heredia (20 minutes from capital city San Jose) and another in the beautiful, rural Pacific coast town of Sámara (in the culturally rich region of Guanacaste). Students are encouraged to study at both campuses in order to experience both urban and rural Costa Rican culture and lifestyles. We offer a series of 18 courses designed by curriculum specialists, using interactive small groups in an environment of total immersion in Latin American culture. Our classes follow the communicative approach and focus on actual communication of the language rather than traditional grammar activities. Our professors are university trained and credentialed to teach Spanish as a second language. Homestays are available and recommended, and Latin dance and cooking classes are an integral part of our program. Weekly activities are scheduled both on and off campus (and all over the country) to keep students constantly involved and speaking Spanish. Volunteer opportunities and university credits are also available. | |

In addition to our excellent academic record and our commitment to the environment and sustainable development (we recently became the first private language school to receive recognition by the United Nations as a partner in the UN Global compact), we also offer a wealth of free cultural and extra-curricular activities for all our local and visiting students, which greatly help our foreign students integrate into Costa Rican culture. | |
